Indeed, Jeroboam II was a most able ruler. 23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned two years.
15 The other events of Shallum’s reign, and the conspiracy he led, are written in the book of the annals(AD) of the kings of Israel. He subdued the king of Moab and captured parts of Syria proper, including Damascus, the capital.
