She recently retired as VP-Chrysler Business Unit from a leading Tier One automotive supplier to pursue a personal goal of joining a non-profit organization. Prior to teaching at Detroit Cristo Rey Mr. Shinn taught at Southgate Aquinas, River Rouge High School and Allen Park Cabrini High School for a total of 22 years. Mr. Shinn lives in Allen Park with his wife Patricia. “I think that you should leave the world better than you found it and I knew that the way I could make the most impact on peoples’ lives was through education.” Prior to joining Detroit Cristo Rey High School in July 2014, Mrs. Howrani taught 3rd grade at UPA Mark Murray Elementary. Prior to that, Mr. Bacon has served the field of education as an Academic/Behavioral Interventionist, English Teacher, and Adjunct College Instructor. He looks forward to seeing all that his students will go on to accomplish. Mr. Lumpkin has successfully implemented solutions for companies, such as: Delphi, Cintas, Faurecia, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and the City of Detroit, just to name a few. in English from Talladega College; and a Master of Education from Marygrove College.

She is passionate about grieving children and is a volunteer facilitator of SandCastles Grief Support for Children and Families under Henry Ford Hospice and uses her own experiences to help participants of the program. Mr. Thorsby was thrilled to join the Detroit Cristo Rey team in 2015 as a freshman, sophomore, and senior English teacher, and he passionately supports Cristo Rey’s mission in Detroit. After college, she spent 3 years working in Washington, DC in the consulting industry and later spent a year abroad teaching in Thailand. Previously, Mr. Solis was a youth minister at a mission in Turtle Mountain Reservation in North Dakota. After attending a small high school in the middle of the state, I went to Central Michigan University where I received a Bachelors of Science in Education degree with a focus in Business Education and History. She enjoys seeing our kids grow and become strong young men and women with clear career goals and plans when they leave Cristo Rey. She is committed to helping students develop values, new perspectives, and skills through the study of literature while simultaneously nurturing a classroom culture that welcomes her students to voice their opinions and engage in inquiry. Maddi is also coaching soccer at DCR, and can’t wait to impact students both on and off the pitch. Ms. Redigan previously worked for six years as a Marketing and Communications Coordinator for the Wayne State University College of Engineering, gaining experience in writing, editing, and publishing. After she graduated, she spent time in Monte Sinai, Ecuador volunteering with Rostro de Cristo. in History and Political Science. in Economics from the College of Wooster; and a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from the University of Detroit Mercy. via Senior Community Service Employee Program (SCSEP) in 2014.
