Army Regulation 350–1 states that record APFTs for TPU Soldiers must be separated by eight months; this does not change, regardless of their duty status, i.e., active duty (under Title 10), annual training, etc. The standards are incorporated within a structured suite of Army Role Fitness Tests which provides progression from entry into Basic Training through to employment in the Field Army. Under the current plan, Soldiers with a permanent profile that prevents them from running will take and alternate aerobic assessment.
